Hubei Daily News (reporters Zhang Jin, Peng Xiaoping, correspondent Yao Rui) The sound of grunting water sounded, the picture began to shake illusory, the house was filled with smoke, two men and one woman were enjoying the pleasure of drugs... June 26th International Anti-drug Day, Anti-drug, Hongshan District, WuhanThe work base held anti-drug publicity and education activities. In the drug control experience area, Sun Shihao, a drug control volunteer from Wuhan University of Technology wearing VR (virtual reality) glasses, seemed to be in a real drug abuse scene.

“The experience is very realistic. When I see drug addicts enjoying themselves, I am both curious and a little nervous; when I see their whole body gradually festering, I start to feel sick and disgusted. ”After Sun Shihao shared his experience and insights, other volunteers also scrambled to “try early adopters” to experience.
“It's hard to quit drug addiction, and it's hard to quit ‘heart addiction’. "Zhang Xianzuan, a technology developer and deputy general manager of Xinjing Technology Company, introduced the VR virtual reality drug rehabilitation correction method, through eye tracking technology and physiological parameter testing, to quantify and evaluate the degree of drug addiction of drug rehabilitation personnel, and then implement corrective treatment. This technology can make people feel like they are taking drugs in person, and it can induce the hidden “mental addiction” of drug rehabilitation personnel to the maximum extent possible.

Why induce drug addiction? Tang Ming, the chief captain of the Hongshan District Anti-drug social work team, explained that if you want to suppress drug addiction, you must first trigger drug addiction. VR detoxification is actually a kind of intervention and correction in the psychological sense. It is intended to reproduce the drug abuse scene through VR video, reconstruct the memory of drug addicts' drug abuse behavior, and then establish confrontational conditionalization through memory extraction and aversion treatment. The scene setting is divided into three stages: the first stage is “inducing drug addiction”, through the immersive experience of the drug-taking environment and dialogue, etc., to arouse the memory of drugs by drug rehabilitation personnel and induce their desire for drugs; the second stage is “aversion therapy”, showing the serious consequences of drug use, such as complications, Side effects, etc., make drug addicts feel disgusted; the third stage is “return to the family”, showing the beautiful scenes of daily life and family life, arousing the nostalgia of drug addicts.
“The emergence of the VR drug addiction assessment and correction system has allowed drug rehabilitation personnel to embark on a fast treatment channel and see a new hope for successful drug rehabilitation. "Zhang Xianzuan introduced that the product has been tried by more than 300 people in the compulsory isolation and drug rehabilitation Center in Lushan, Hunan Province, and the effect is good. It is still in the improvement stage and the finished product will be launched in August this year. The finished product has a variety of scenarios to choose from, not only for detoxification, but also for the treatment of insomnia. The price of high-configuration equipment is 600,000 to 700,000 yuan.
It is reported that after Zhejiang Province used the “virtual reality (VR) drug addiction assessment and correction system” in the province's drug rehabilitation system in 2017, Beijing, Shanghai and other places have also launched VR drug rehabilitation systems one after another this year. The first anti-drug VR experience center in Wuhan has been settled in Hanyang anti-drug community and has been completed and put into use.
